Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time, preparing for auditions, or simply looking to enjoy music as a hobby, my goal is to create engaging lessons that are challenging, encouraging, and fun. Every lesson is customized to the student’s interests while building strong musicianship and lasting skills.
I offer private guitar lessons, piano lessons, music theory tutoring, and composition lessons in Alexandria, VA for kids, teens, and adults. Lessons are one-on-one and tailored to each student’s goals, whether they are starting their first instrument, building stronger fundamentals, preparing for auditions, learning to read music, or developing original songs and compositions.
Students can study beginner guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, chords, technique, ear training, harmony, AP Music Theory, songwriting, orchestration, film scoring, game music composition, and Logic Pro / DAW-based music production. My goal is to help each student build confidence, creativity, and lasting musicianship in a supportive lesson environment.
Lessons are taught from my home studio in Alexandria, VA. Parents are welcome to sit in for lessons, especially for younger students and first lessons. The goal is a comfortable, focused, and encouraging lesson environment.

Piano is usually a good fit for ages 6+, and guitar is usually best for ages 7+, depending on the student. Teens and adults are welcome.

Yes, students should have regular access to an instrument for practice between lessons. But if you’re just starting and want to try something out here or get advice before purchasing an instrument that works too!

Yes. Beginners are welcome, and lessons are paced around each student’s goals and experience.

Yes. Composition lessons can include songwriting, orchestration, film scoring, game music, Logic Pro, DAWs, and original creative projects. Often we are working on piano or guitar to explore concepts, but if you play a different instrument and want to just focus on these things you are more than welcome!
